Angie: You seem a little down, Kota.

Kota: Well, you and Harry keep lending me your surfboards. It’s very kind.

Angie: We’re happy to!

Kota: But… I would like to have my own surfboard. Where can I buy one?

Angie: Oh, actually, Harry works part-time at a surf shop.

Kota: Really? Can I look at some surfboards there?

Angie: Sure! We can go there together.

Kota: I’d like to look at some surfboards.

Harry: Surfboards aren’t cheap, Kota. I want you to know that first.

Kota: OK. What do you recommend?

Harry: This one is very popular. It’s a Hawaiian brand. And it has a cool design.

Kota: How much is it?

Harry: It’s 850 dollars.

Kota: That’s too expensive!

Harry: OK, how about this one? It’s simple. But it’s good for beginners. It’s 500 dollars.

Kota: That’s still too expensive….

Shota: Thanks! It was very thrilling.

Mitsuko: He was great.

Kenji: How is the surfing going?

Kota: OK. I’m practicing every week. I can stand up now, a little.

Mitsuko: Wonderful!

Kenji: Good!

Kota: But I don’t have my own surfboard. I keep borrowing from other people.

Angie: Oh, uh…. Hi, Kota.

Kota: What’s up?

Angie: Mum and I are going to the mall. Do you want to come with us?

Kota: I’m too busy to go shopping now. I’m… exercising.

Angie: I can see.

Kota: I can’t buy my own surfboard now. But I can train by myself. So, I’ll try! I want to become a good surfer.
