Clive: Hi, Pam. How did the meeting with the Japanese company go?

Pam: Pretty well, I think. We spent a long time preparing for it, so we were able to put forward some powerful arguments.

Clive: So, do you think you persuaded them to accept our conditions?

Pam: Well, they were tough negotiators, but in the end I believe they will agree to most of them.

Clive: Well done. I’m sure the boss will be delighted.

過去の「実際にできた」には was / were able to を優先する。
