Kota: It’s very fun! The students look really active.

Sapna: Yeah, we are. I’m on the volleyball team, and I’m in the theater club.

Nigel: I’m on the debate team. And I play the trumpet in the school band.

Sapna: And Nigel is in the chess club, too. He’s very smart!

Kota: Wow, you guys are in many clubs and teams. You are so talented! I want to try something…

Kota: Um, I don’t have a hobby. My family loves baseball. My brother hopes to win the championship this year. My parents are very proud of him. But I’m not good at baseball…

Nigel: How about joining the cricket team at school?

Kota: Are you on the cricket team, too?

Nigel: No… but I like to watch cricket!

Nigel: It’s one of the major sports here. You hit a ball with a bat and try to score runs.

Kota: Wait, that’s like baseball!

Nigel: Oh, hahaha, I guess so.

Sapna: Maybe you can join the theater club with me. Every year, we perform a musical.

Kota: That sounds cool.

Sapna: Oh, look! It’s Briony. Why don’t we talk to her?

Kota: Um, OK…

Kota: Kota.

Briony: Oh, yeah.

Kota: I was impressed with your surfing skill.

Briony: Thanks!

Sapna: Briony got second place in the surfing championships last year. Oh, Kota! Why don’t you try surfing?

Nigel: That’s an excellent idea. Surfing is almost like our national sport.

Briony: Actually, we’re going surfing next Sunday. Why don’t you come with us?

Kota: Um… O-OK, I will!
