Are you originally from New York, Chef Lorenzo?
Yes. My parents came from Italy, and I grew up here.
Did you always want to open a restaurant?
Absolutely! Even as a little boy, I loved to cook.
Why did you decide to open a pizzeria?
New York pizza is so unique and special. I created the entire menu myself.

For the uniforms, I asked for Rio’s help. Everyone loves the staff uniforms designed by Rio. She used fabric imported from Italy!

What’s the difference?
Gelato is a frozen dessert made with milk and sugar. We have vanilla, chocolate, and pistachio flavors.
Oh, I love pistachio!
For Italian ice, we don’t use milk. We use ice and fruit syrup. We have lemon, orange, and cherry flavors.
They both sound good, but… I’ll have a pistachio gelato, please!

Yes. She is so talented! I saw her at a fashion show last year. She created a series of dresses with exquisite patterns.

She said that Edo kiriko, or Japanese cut glass, inspired her designs.

A lot of her clients are celebrities. She must be friends with Chef Lorenzo!

How to eat New York pizza.
Step 1: Order the pizza. You can buy a whole pizza or just one slice.
Step 2: Fold the pizza. New York pizza is usually large and thin. It doesn’t stay flat when you pick it up.
So, you should fold it!
Some people fold it in half. Some people fold the pizza crust into a “V” shape.
Step 3: Eat the pizza. Enjoy!
