Story Time

Kota, Briony, Sapna, and Nigel are chatting during break at school.
Kota: My family sent me some recent pictures from Iwate. I have them on my tablet.

Sapna: Ooh, show us!

Kota: This is my family in front of our house.

Sapna: What are they doing in the picture?

Nigel: They’re shoveling snow.

Kota: That’s right. In Iwate, it snows from November to March or sometimes April. Last week, it snowed 30 centimeters in one day!

Nigel: I have never seen so much snow.

Kota: Someday you should all come visit me in Iwate. We can go snowboarding together.

Nigel: Um, I think I’ll just soak in the hot springs instead.
