Kota, Briony, and Harry are eating lunch at a burger shop after surfing.

Harry: That was a good workout!

kota: Yeah. You did some cool tricks today, Briony.

Briony: Thanks! If you practice, you can do tricks, too!

Kota: I don’t know. I feel a little frustrated.

Briony: Why?

Kota: The same thing happens every time. I stand up for a little bit. Then I fall down.

Kota, Sapna, and Nigel are chatting at school.

Sapna: Guys! Auditions for the spring musical are coming up! I need to choose one of the songs for my audition. The ballad or the pop song, that is the question. What’s your opinion?

Nigel: Hmm. The ballad is better than the pop song. Ballads are more dramatic. You can show off your ability.

Sapna: Great! Then, I’ll sing the ballad in the audition. Kota, you’re very quiet.

Kota: Oh, I was thinking about Iwate. The fall colors must be really beautiful right now.

Kota continues chatting with Sapna and Nigel during the break.

Kota: The mountains near my hometown are gorgeous in autumn.
