Mirai: All kinds, but recently I’ve been listening to jazz.
Theo: Really? You know, we’re having a jazz festival in our town next month. They have it every year. Jazz musicians from al over the world come to perform.
Mirai: Oh, where do they perform?
Theo: They are playing in various places throughout the town. Here’s a flyer for it.
Mirai: Well, it looks like fun. I’ll definitely go.

「予定」を表す現在進行形。

various 「さまざまな」。throughout ～「(場所を表わして)至る所、すみからすみまで」。flyer 「パンフレット、チラシ」。
I’ll definitely go.
definitely は「間違いなく・疑いなく」。こうした確信の度合いを表す副詞が動詞の前に置かれるのは指定ルールが働いているから。「ある考えや前提を「受け入れる」というニュアンスの単語。goes on … automatically は「definitely で go 」と出来事が起こる可能性を指定するからです。

What kind of music do you like?
wh 語は、What do you like?（あなたは何が好きですか？）と単体で使うこともできますが、この文の what kind of music（どんな種類の音楽）のように「大きな wh 語」を作ることもできます。
後は慣れていくだけ。
What time do you want to come?
How much is this laptop?
Whose racket is this?
what time、how much、whose + 名詞、と大きな wh 語が作られています。how は特に頻繁にこうした使い方をする wh 語です。how tall、how old、how many + 名詞の複数形、など枚挙にいとまがありません。どれも気軽に作れるようにしましょう。
「大きな wh 語」、こうしたポピュラーなものだけでなく、自分で自由に作ってかまわないのです。試しに作ってみましょう。

「大きな wh 語」を使う練習です。 wh 語以降の形はいつもと同じ疑問文形を続けるだけ。すぐに慣れます。
How many gifted students have you come across in your career?
「how many + 名詞の複数形」はたいへんポピュラーな大きな wh 語。ここでは現在完了経験用法とともに用いられています。「何人～したことがありますか？」です。gifted は「（天賦の）才能がある」。come across は「出くわす・偶然見つける」というフレーズ。
Which work of Shakespeare do you like the most?
which は「選択」を表す wh 語。「シェークスピアの作品の中でどの」とピックアップしています。like the most は「いちばん好き」です。
What role do you have in the school play?
簡単な日本語でも英語にしようとすると思いのほか難しいですね。そんなときは文全体を覚えてしまうこと。role は「役割・役柄」。what role で「何の役」。
