オーケストラのメンバーであるエリカとトオルが話しています。
Erika: Hi Toru! Are you ready for our first orchestra practice? The Christmas concerts are not far away.
Toru: I know. The first performance is on December 23rd, right?
Erika: Exactly. Hmm, you sound a bit nervous.
Toru: No, I’m a lot nervous! I don’t think I’ll be ready in time.
Erika: Hey, relax. I can help you with some extra practice sessions.
Toru: Oh, can you? I’d really appreciate that.
Erika: No problem. We’re both here early, so why don’t we start right away, before the others arrive?
Toru: Great idea. I feel much better already.

この文には注意が必要です。I really appreciate that. は相手にやってもらったことに関して「本当にありがとうございます（感謝します）。」とお礼を述べる表現ですが、この文には would が加わっています。仮定法の would（もししてくれたら～でしょう）です。つまりやってもらう前の発言ということになります。

このキーセンテンスはたいへん単純でありながら、相手を引き込み会話へ積極的に参加させるための重要なテクニックを含んでいます。文末の「, right?」ですよ。あえて right? とつけ加えることによって、相手に発言の機会が与えられ、会話に弾みがつくのです。
キーセンテンスには次の文もあります。「あいづち疑問文」 – こちらも会話に弾みをつけるはたいへん重要なテクニックです。

日本語の「そうなの？」「へぇ」に相当する疑問文です。作り方は単純。相手の発言を疑問文にして軽くオウム返しするだけのことですよ。I can … と言われたので Can you? 。とても簡単なテクニックですが、皆さんが合いの手を入れ反応を返すことによって、会話が躍動を始めます。

「ちょこっと疑問」と「あいづち疑問文」。反射的に作れるように練習しましょう。

これは簡単。right をつけて気軽に作ろう。
So, You two have finally decided to tie the knot, huh?
finally は「とうとう」。tie the knot は「結婚する」。get married も可。
Betty has two adorable cats. ― Oh, does she?
adorable は「かわいい・愛らしい」。もちろん cute でもOK。あいづちを打つときには、軽い疑問文を返します。Betty has … ですから does she? です。
