Lesson 181 幸多のリクエスト
Kota and the Millers are in the living room.
Kota, you’re going to go back to Japan next month. That’s hard to believe.
Yes, I know.
One year went by so fast!
I’ve had so many wonderful experiences here.
Is there anything you’d still like to do?
Well, I’d like to see a nice view of Sydney.
Why don’t you climb the Harbour Bridge? You can see the entire city from there.
I’ve never climbed the Harbour Bridge! Let’s go tomorrow!
I’m rather busy tomorrow. Max, why don’t you take them?
Me? Climb that high? OK….
Lesson 182 さあ、冒険だ!
Kota, Angie, and Max are getting ready to climb to the top of the Harbour Bridge. A guide is helping them.
Listen carefully to my instructions, everyone. First, we will climb up some stairs. Then, we will reach a walkway along the top arch. We’ll use that in order to get to the top of the bridge. From there, it’s 134 meters to the water level.
That’s quite high!
Don’t worry! It’s not dangerous. There’s a safety rope. We’ll connect our jumpsuits to the rope.
How long will the climb take?
It will take about three hours round-trip.
Is everyone ready for a fantastic adventure?
Lesson 183 最高の景色
The group that is led by the guide climbs toward the top of the Harbour Bridge.
It’s a long climb. But we’re getting pretty high up.
What’s wrong, Max?
I can’t move at all! To tell you the truth… I’m afraid of heights!
It’s OK! Just hold on to the rope and go one step at a time.
This walkway takes us to the summit.
Welcome to the top of the Harbour Bridge! It’s one of the tallest steel arch bridges in the world.
I can’t look! My legs are shaking. Can you hold my hand?
You can see all of Sydney! Even the Opera House looks small from here!
Yes, it does!
Lesson 184 ずっと忘れないよ
Kota, Angie, and Max are back home after climbing the Harbour Bridge.
So, how was the bridge climb?
It was incredible!
But poor Dad! He was so terrified. He couldn’t even look down.
Yeah, but Kota and Angie helped me.
And the 360-degree panoramic view of Sydney was spectacular. I’ll remember it forever!
You were so brave, Kota. With that bravery, you’ll do great in the surfing competition!
Actually, walking back down was a little scary for me, too.
Yeah. I felt a little dizzy when I looked down.
I’m so glad I went. Climbing the bridge was fantastic!
Well, you must be exhausted. Have a seat, and show me your photos!
