Henry: Thanks for helping us with Thanksgiving dinner today, guys.

Ayane: We’re happy to help!

Nancy: Great. We’re preparing the turkey now.

Ayane: Wow! The turkey is huge!

Henry: It’s 15 pounds. Emma? Please turn on the oven. We’ll roast the turkey for three and a half hours.

Emma: OK, Dad!

Nancy: Ayane and Min-jun, will you take out the potatoes? Please wash them in the sink and peel off the skin. Then, we’ll boil and mash them.

Min-jun: Got it!

 

They will cook potatoes.

 

 

Henry: I think we’re ready! I’ll pick up the turkey and bring it to the table. Emma, is there enough room?

Emma: Yeah, there is. Be careful, Dad! The turkey is heavy.

Henry: I know! It’s 15 pounds! There we go. Let’s eat!

Rio: What an elegant presentation!

Henry: Thank you, Rio. Everyone, please raise your glasses. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ayane: Will you pass me the cranberry sauce, Emma?

Emma: Sure! Here you go.

Ayane: Thanks. Is it sour?

Emma: A little bit. It goes well with turkey!

Henry: Dessert is almost ready! I baked four pies in the oven, and I just took them out. We should wait about 30 minutes for them to cool.

Nancy: Thank you, dear. In the meantime, why don’t we give thanks?

Emma: Can we help you wash the dishes, Dad?

Henry: Yes, please! Let’s start with the plates on the table. Can you clean them up?

Min-jun: Sure, of course.

Henry: Thanks. Please put them in the sink in the kitchen.

At Thanksgiving dinner tonight, everyone said what they are thankful for.

 

TI joked, “I’m thankful for this delicious food!” and everyone laughed.

 

Actually, I’m thankful for so many things… like my amazing friends.

 

Their friendship means so much to me.

 

I’m also thankful for the support from my teachers and family.

 

They always encourage me to follow my dreams.
