Min-jun: Do you guys have any plans?

Ayane: Not yet. I heard about an event for teens at the mall.

Min-jun: What kind of event?

Ayane: You can go trick-or-treating inside the mall. Free candy is given out at shops.

Emma: What? Only little kids go trick-or-treating. Don’t you think?

Brandon: No! My sister Tiffany came trick-or-treating with me until she was 15.

Emma: Really?

Ayane: I think it sounds fun!

Ayane: Well, I never went trick-or-treating in Japan, but I always loved dressing up! Sometimes, I attended a neighborhood Halloween party with my friends.

Brandon: I like dressing up, too. On Halloween, you can be anything for the day!

Min-jun: I already have some ideas for my costume this year.

Ayane: You know, there’s a costume contest with prizes at the mall event.

Brandon: That gives me an idea!

Min-jun: What do you mean?

Brandon: Min-jun, you and Ayane are talented designers. Will you two make a costume for me?

Emma: Brilliant idea, Brandon! I want one, too!

Min-jun: Hold on. We don’t have that much time until Halloween!

Ayane: Here’s a suggestion. I’ll make my costume and Emma’s, and Min-jun will make his and Brandon’s. How about it?

Min-jun: Well… OK! It’s a deal.

Emma ＆ Brandon: Yeah!

Min-jun: Hi, Kiara. I’m going to make two Halloween costumes. I drew these designs. My friend wants to be a vampire.

Kiara: Let’s see. I have a velvet vest and a wool cape.

Min-jun: Wow! These are perfect for a vampire.

Kiara: Look, I found a top hat, too!

Min-jun: When was this hat made? It looks old.

Kiara: Actually, it’s new! The seller used old silk fabric to make it.

Min-jun: Cool!
