Helena: Koichi, which hot-spring resort should we choose for the three-day weekend?

Koichi: My grandparents run a great little hotel in the mountains of Shizuoka.

Helena: Is there a web page for it?

Koichi: Yes. Let me see. Ah, here it is. It’s an old web page, though.

Helena: From these photos, the place looks kind of shabby.

Koichi: Don’t judge a book by its cover. The hot spring there is first-class and the food is exquisite.

Helena: Are you sure?

Koichi: Trust me. It’s awesome.

Jack: Kaya, how was your trip to Osaka?

Kaya: I had a really nice time. It was good to see Risa again.

Jack: Ah, I remember you told me she moved there from Tokyo to improve her comedy skills.

Kaya: That’s right. And now she’s really fantastic at stand-up comedy.

Jack: Where does she perform?

Kaya: There is a famous theater in Namba. That’s where I saw her show. She’s so funny!

Jack: I’d like to see her perform one day.

Steve: Elly, what are you doing?

Elly: I’m doing a little science experiment. Watch this. This is a peeled, hard-boiled egg. And here is a milk bottle. I put a lit match into the bottle. Now, I cover the top with my hand.

Steve: There’s smoke in the bottle.

Elly: Now I put the egg on top of the bottle.

（卵が瓶の中に吸い込まれ、ポンッと音がする）

Steve: Wow! It got sucked in!

Elly: Right. That’s because of the low pressure in the bottle. I’m really interested in physics.

Steve: I can see that.

Jessica: Professor Peacock, today’s lecture was amazing! I didn’t know anything about Atlantis.

Peacock: Thank you, Jessica. Now I’m planning my next research trip to that area.

Jessica: To Atlantis? Is there really such a place?

Peacock: Well, there are some ruins in Northern Africa that might help answer that question.

Jessica: Can I join you on your trip?

Peacock: Yes, I am selecting ten students for this trip.

Jessica: How can I apply?

Peacock: Applicants should come to my office at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.
