PRACTICAL CHALLENGE! ~

break up with …

SIMPLE ANSWER

1 I’m so sorry to hear that. I know it’s tough to break up with a partner.
2 You’re sure to find another one in no time, but if you feel lonely, just call me.
3 I’m always happy to talk to you.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I know it’s tough to break up with a partner.

次の文は it … to ~の形。

You’re sure to find another one in no time, but if you feel lonely, just call me.

I’m always happy to talk to you.

ADVANCED ANSWER

1  Oh, no! I’m really sorry to hear that. It will obviously take you a while to get over this, but you’ll be fine.
2  And there are plenty of other fish in the sea, right? So it will be easy to find a great guy soon.
3  But for now, if you ever feel down, I’ll be glad to lend you a shoulder to cry on.

1  Oh, no! I’m really sorry to hear that. It will obviously take you a while to get over this, but you’ll be fine.

2  And there are plenty of other fish in the sea, right? So it will be easy to find a great guy soon.

And there are …

3  But for now, if you ever feel down, I’ll be glad to lend you a shoulder to cry on.

be glad to lend you …
さて「貸す」のは a shoulder to cry on。
