I wish のあとに「had＋過去分詞」を使って文をおいて、過去にやらずに今になって後悔していることを言ってみましょう。
I wish … の使い方はふた通りあります。
ひとつは、I wish … に続けて「主語＋過去形」を置くパターンで、現在の事実に反することを「～ならいいのになぁ」。
I wish I were as tall as my brother.
もうひとつは、「I wish + 主語＋had + 過去分詞」。こちらは過去に実現しなかったことについて「～だったら良かったのに」と願望や後悔を述べるパターン。
I wish I had studied more when I was in junior high school.
