Lesson 005 I hope it will be a special year

Miki: Good morning, Sho.

Sho: Hi, Miki.

Miki: Did you run today?

Sho: Yeah. I’m running every day. I feel great!

Miki: It’s almost the sakura festival. I’m looking forward to your wadaiko performance.

Sho: Thanks! I’m glad to hear that.

Miki: This is our last year in junior high school. I don’t want to regret anything, so I’ll do my best. What about you, Sho?

Sho: I hope it will be a special year.

Miki: Where are you going for high school?

Sho: I don’t know yet, but I want to go somewhere near my house.

Miki: Oh, Sho!

Lesson 005 Summary

Sho and his friend Miki are walking to school together.
Miki is looking forward to Sho’s wadaiko performance at the sakura festival.

Lesson 006 I am planning to study hotel management in America

Sho: What about you, Miki? Where are you going for high school?

Miki: I want go to school with a study abroad program.

Sho: Why?

Miki: I am planning to study hotel management in America.

Sho: Wow! That’s amazing!

Miki: I will take over my family’s hotel business in the future. So, studying hotel management overseas will be a good experience for me. Are you taking over your family’s ryokan?

Sho: I don’t know yet. I’ll think about it in high school.

Miki: Sho, we’re not children anymore. You’re almost in high school. You have to think about your future now.

Lesson 006 Summary

Lesson 007 I want to become a professional soccer player!

Yota: Good morning, Miki. Good morning, Sho.

Sho: Hey, Yota. Which high school are you going to go to?

Yota: I’m going to go to a high school with a strong soccer team.

Miki: Why soccer?

Yota: Because I want to become a professional soccer player!

Sho: You can do it, Yota!

Yota: I hope so. It’s just dream at this point. But you and Miki are lucky.

Sho: Why?

Yota: You can both take over your family businesses, so you don’t have to worry about your futuer. That’s lucky.

 

Lesson 007 Summary

Yota is (       ) (        ) go to a high school with a strong soccer team.
He thinks Sho and Miki are lucky because they can take over their family businesses.

Lesson 008 This ryokan is 250 years old!

Sho: Hey, Grandma?

Yoko: Are you all right, Sho? You look worried.

Sho: I’m fine. I just have a question. Do you want me or Mari to take over the ryokan?

Yoko: Neither. I’m the last one.

Sho: What? Whay?

Yoko: Your mother was going to take over from me, but she left. So, the line is now broken.

Sho: Yeah, I remember that.

Yoko: Also, we have fewer and fewer customers. We can’t atay open much longer.

Sho: We have to do something, Grandma! This ryokan is 250 years old!

Yoko: I’m afraid all good things must come to an end.

Lesson 008 Summary

Yoko says to Sho, “you (       ) worried.”
He answers, “I’m (         ).”
Because Sho’s mother left, Yoko thinks she is the last one to run the ryokan.
