Aoi: Joe, you can’t wear these pants anymore. Look, there’s a hole in the back pocket.
Joe: But those are my favorite pants. All my other trousers are too tight on me.
Aoi: Well, you can’t go out in these. What will people say?
Joe: They can say what they like. It doesn’t bother me.
Aoi: Listen, you’re getting new pants. Let’s go shopping. I need to get some new clothes for spring anyway.
Joe: OK. If you insist.

Man: Hi, I’m looking for an ink ribbon cartridge for my word processor.
Clerk: Word Processor?
Man: You don’t know what that is?
Clerk: I’ve heard of them. Unfortunately, almost nobody uses them now.
Man: Can you check for me? Here’s the old cartridge.
Clerk: Mmm… I’m afraid they stopped making these about ten years ago.
Man: Oh, no! So, I can’t use my word processor anymore?
Clerk: There might be some old cartridges available on the internet.
Man: OK, thanks.

Kana: Why didn’t you finish your lunch, Ken? Weren’t you hungry?
Ken: Actually, I was hungry, but I couldn’t eat that stuff.
Kana: Was it that bad?
Ken: To put it mildly, it’s the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had.
Kana: But it was your idea to come here for lunch.
Ken: Well, this used to be a good restaurant. I guess they changed the cooks recently. I’m never coming back.
Kana: Oh, that’s too bad. My food was fine.

会社の同僚のジョナスとヤヨイが、オフィスの移転で引っ越しの準備をしています。
Jonas: Yayoi, do you have any more labels for the boxes?
Yayoi: Sure, here you go. As the boss mentioned before, we need to put our desk number on all our boxes.
Jonas: Got it. Why do we have to move now? I’m extremely busy.
Yayoi: Everybody’s busy, Jonas. Assisting in the move is part of your job.
Jonas: Well, I hope you understand I might be late with my report.
Yayoi: Like I said, this move has priority now.
